Eoraptor Fact
If you spot Eoraptor there’s no point in going any further back in time, because you’re at the very start of the dinosaur age!
Bad pet
Eoraptor is a small, speedy carnivore, with a light build and odd, leaf-shaped teeth. Don’t get too close, however, as these teeth have a jagged edge and are very sharp. This dinosaur may only be the size of a pet dog, but it’s a lot less friendly.
Is it or isn’t it?
Although spotting Eoraptor will be exciting, there are still a number of scientists who aren’t sure whether it really is a dinosaur. The problem being that there are some aspects of the skeleton of Eoraptor, particularly the skull, which aren’t quite like that of the other, later creatures. But most palaeontologists do identify enough characteristics to classify Eoraptor as a dinosaur.
After all, the age of the dinosaurs has to start somewhere.
