Edmontosaurus Fact
You’ll need to be in the right place at the right time to spot this Cretaceous herd dweller. Edmontosaurus is migratory, roaming from Alaska to Alberta to avoid the cold winter temperatures.
Puff daddy
One of the more unusual features of this particular dinosaur is its ability to inflate itself. Of course, Edmontosaurus can’t blow its whole body up, just an area of loose skin around its nose. Presumably, the males do this as a courtship display, although it’s hard to imagine what the females find attractive about their mates’ ability to show off a balloon nose.
Jaw jaw
Edmontosaurus is a very efficient eater - its well-adapted jaws can chew through just about anything. They are hinged so they can move both up and down and side to side, allowing the dinosaur to grind up pretty much everything between its cheek teeth. This includes tough bits such as pine needles, which most herbivores have to leave - very handy if you spend a lot of time on the move.
